Ear microsuction uses an operating microscope and gentle suction to safely and effectively clear the ear canal of wax that may be causing irritation or reducing your hearing.
Appointments for ear suction can only be booked after an initial appointment with your GP to examine your ears to determine the cause of your symptoms. You will then be asked to soften the wax, prior to returning for a booked ear microsuction appointment.
Appointments for microsuction are made by the reception team (not available online).
To prepare your ears for microsuction, please follow the instructions below:
- Use Ear Clear (for ear wax) drops
- 10 drops to the ear/s that are blocked twice daily
- Use the drops for four days prior to your appointment (plus the morning of your appointment).
Please do NOT use any ear drops if you have ear pain, grommets or a ruptured ear drum.
