COVID Vaccinations

To provide you with optimum protection, the most current COVID-19 vaccines are available at Blackburn Clinic (subject to stock availability). A booster provides protection against serious illness from COVID-19.

Covid vaccination guidelines per National Immunisation Program (NIP), free to the following groups from 1 October 2026:

75 years and older
All adults aged ≥75 years, including aged care residents, are recommended to receive two free doses of COVID-19 vaccine per year, given around 6 months apart. The risk of severe illness increases significantly with advancing age.

65-74 years
One free dose per year.

18-64 years
With severe immunocompromise: One free dose per year (ask your GP which conditions are included).

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 50-74 years
One free dose per year.

After 1 October 2026, people who do not fit the eligibility above will need to purchase their Covid vaccine privately. Once the Government advise where private vaccine will be sold we will update this page.

While NIP vaccines are free for eligible people, vaccination providers may charge a consultation fee for the visit.

There is no recommended minimum interval between a COVID-19 vaccine dose and infection

The date you had your last COVID-19 vaccine is on your Australian Immunisation History, available through your myGov account or the 1800MEDICARE App.
